Warmer weekend, but why you should stay away from the coast — San Mateo Community news

Tonight & Friday: Clear skies with high clouds streaming in from the northwest. Weak offshore winds will limit widespread fog, though a few pockets may develop in the North Bay valleys early Friday morning.  Friday afternoon will be slightly warmer than today. (68 to 79 degrees)  Weekend into Early Next Week: Dry weather and weak ridging will maintain slightly above-normal daytime highs and overnight lows.  A shallow marine layer (under 1,000 feet) returns Saturday night into Sunday morning ahead of a weakening front. High temperatures in the warmest locations in the 80s!  Coastal Flood Advisory for our Califonia coastline and bayshores. Most local Coastal Flood Advisories expire Friday Nov. 13 at 4PM. Friday 11/6: 9:08 AM | 7.2 ft MLLW (1.4 ft above normal)  Beach Hazards Statement extended through Monday for all Pacific Coast beaches. A long-period (14 -18 second) west/northwest swell will generate breaking waves of 12 to 16 feet at exposed beaches.
